COSMEDICA – The Center for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, founded in 2002, is one of the most modern and advanced clinics in Romania and the only private clinic that fully covers the specialty of plastic surgery. With a capacity of 22 beds, 20 for continuous hospitalization and 2 for day surgery, our clinic performs over 1,000 surgical interventions annually.
Located in a modern building with an interior courtyard and automated electric gate, the clinic is equipped with surveillance cameras for complete security and has a spacious 450 sqm parking lot. COSMEDICA is ISO 9001:2008 certified and accredited by ANMCS, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Our clinic operates 24/7, with our team led by Dr. Costache Chertif, a specialist with over 30 years of experience in hand surgery. The clinic is recognized and accredited by FESSH – the European Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand, being the only private center in Romania specialized in hand surgery.

Dr. Mihai Chertif
Following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Costache Chertif, a well-known Romanian plastic surgeon, Dr. Mihai Chertif graduated from the “Iuliu Hațieganu” Faculty of General Medicine in Cluj-Napoca. Since 2008, he has been working at Cosmedica Clinic, where he serves as Medical Director.
In parallel, Dr. Mihai Chertif also works at the Plastic Surgery Department of Baia Mare County Hospital, where he learned the principles of plastic surgery and the responsibility that comes with being a doctor alongside his father. The main lesson learned from his father is that in medicine, nothing is more important than helping all patients who seek your care, unconditionally.
With extensive professional experience gained in clinics in Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Germany, and Italy, Dr. Mihai Chertif believes that what sets a good doctor apart from an exceptional one is the hours of practice and experience gained through exchanges around the world. This is why he participates in exchange programs in various countries across Europe each year.
His first experience was in Munich, Germany, at the Rechts der Isar Clinic, where he worked with Prof. Yves Harder for three months as a resident in the operating room. Dr. Mihai Chertif had the opportunity to participate in highly complex reconstructive surgeries rarely seen in Romania.
The next destination was Turin, Italy, at CTO Ospedale, where he worked with Dr. Bruno Battiston, Dr. Pierluigi Tos, and Dr. Paolo Titolo, specialists in hand surgery, especially trauma and soft tissue pathology.
